Summary

Poland's experience at the Paris Peace Conference contained its fair share of ups and downs, and nowhere was this more apparent in the early phases of the conference when its case was first presented. Poland was facing into a power vacuum and with that came great opportunities, but also grave challenges. How could Poland balance the rivalry of its major figures, Paderewski, Pilsudski and Dmowski? How could Poles balance the rivalry of its neighbours? Could Poland push back Bolshevism? Could Europe be persuaded to see things Poland's way, or was there little chance of Poland ever getting what it wanted, so long as people like David Lloyd George remained so utterly opposed to the realisation of her national ambition? Have a listen here to find out all these answers, and be introduced to the Polish case like never before...

0:04.2

fails, more specifically, episode 30 of the Versailles Anniversary Project. We are 30 episodes deep,

0:11.6

and we're not even halfway through this incredible story. Remember, this is a listener-supported podcast,

0:18.1

and nowhere is this more obvious than in the extreme amount of detail we're able to go

0:21.9

into here any regular podcasts which are not supported as well as this would never have the time

0:28.3

to look at the Paris Peace Conference in the detail that we're doing unless of course they had

0:34.0

several years to prepare and had very very patient family and friends i do have

0:39.7

very patient family and friends but because i'm also working in other aspects too i don't have all that

0:45.4

much time to prepare so because of that i do rely on your guys's support this podcast which

0:51.3

1:03.3

I have some amazing plans for this podcast in 2019, and I also have some interesting news about how Zach Wally's Life is going, but I will spare you all the details as things develop. I will reveal the secrets then. So stay tuned for probably what will be a state of the podcast address at some time late in the spring. In any case, thanks so much for listening here. And you should of course know that the best way to support

1:28.2

this podcast is simply by telling somebody about it, as I say, every flaming time that we start

1:34.3

an episode. February is a very busy month for the Paris Peace Conference and consequently

1:39.6

it's a very busy month for us. There are several episodes, several chunky episodes to come as we cover

1:46.4

some very detailed issues and debates and look at some very eventful days in the Council of

1:52.8

Ten's life cycle. So I hope you're ready for that, but I should of course remind you as well

1:57.0

that if you would like to support this podcast monetarily, patreon.com is the best place to go to

2:02.1

do that. By giving a small amount every single month, be that one, two, three, four, five or six

2:07.9

dollars, you will get something back in return. Currently, if you were to give one dollar a month,

2:12.9

you'd actually have access to Louis X-14's Arms and Armies, a 10-part series looking at, well, Louis

2:19.5

the 14th's Arms and Armies in the late 17th century. So, if Louis the 14th and that era and those

2:26.5

episodes are something you really enjoyed, then that should be right up your street. The $2 folks
