Summary

In episode 485 astrologer Elly Higgins joins the show to discuss the 8-year repetitions of Venus retrograde in Aries and how they tie into queer history over the past century. In this episode we start with the Venus retrograde in Aries of 1905, and then work our way forward in 8 year increments, discussing how important moments and turning points in queer history keep coinciding with this retrograde. In the process we ended up finding a bunch of repetitions, many of which give insight into the Venus retrograde that we are currently living through today. Elly is the host of Star Gays: The Queer Astrology Archives Podcast, and you can find more information here: https://ellyhiggins.com https://stargaysastrology.ghost.io This episode is available in audio and video versions below. Yeah, I'm really actually excited to do this topic with you because I did the whole big Venus retrograde in Aries in history episode

0:23.0

with Nick Dagan Best in January, just as Venus was moving into its shadow phase. And I had noticed

0:31.3

as we went through like a century of this Venus retrograde that repeats every eight years,

0:35.8

that there were some really interesting and important turning points in queer history at different points. And then you wrote me

0:42.5

afterwards and pointed out there's actually a lot more that you had found. So over the past

0:47.5

month, you've been compiling a bunch of research. And that's part of what we're going to go through

0:51.3

today is you've found a much more extensive set of events tied in with this Venus retrograde, which I think after we go through today will help us to see the greater context of some of the things that have been happening recently in this current one.

Of course, yeah.

1:15.1

Thank you again so much for having me.

1:17.9

And of course, I can't fill Nick's shoes,

1:20.0

but hopefully will bring some interesting insights.

1:25.7

But yeah, my name is Ellie Ellie and I am a consulting astrologer and independent researcher,

1:33.9

historian of queer cultural history. As an astrologer, I do one-on-one consultations and

1:41.4

workshops, but also I host a queer astrology podcast called

1:46.2

Stargays, the Queer Astrology Archives podcast, where I talk a lot about the astrology of
