Welcome to It Could Happen here, a podcast frequently about the horrifying tech ghouls,

0:16.5

and in this case, venture capital ghouls who are plotting to take over the United States and have

0:21.4

already made your lives significantly worse. I am your host, Mia Wong. And with me today,

0:27.7

I'm very, very excited about this. To talk about the forces of venture capital and how they're

0:33.4

ruining our lives is Shane Lee, who is one of the people who puts together the website VC InfoDox,

0:40.2

0:54.7

1:00.9

first podcast I've ever done. So thank you. I feel very special. So it's great. It's good to be here with you.

1:27.3

But I remember when I first

1:29.5

started encountering venture capital, like, I knew in my body and my heart and my soul that

1:36.7

something was terribly wrong with this situation. And so I started following that down,

2:02.5

you know, over the course of years. And now I've been doing it for about 13 years. At different times, I've been more of an activist. I ran a tech critical magazine at one point. And now I really do a bunch of research and work with other researchers around the world to try to bring as much serious and material information about venture capital and what we're facing

2:08.4

as possible and put it in people's hands who can do something about it. Yeah, and those hands are

2:14.5

amazingly, you the listener. Yeah.
