There is an old prophecy that was reported in May of 1903, but the return of a dark entity that has helped shape our perception of witches and of poltergeis.

Unseen entities that are said to be able to move objects,

sometimes violently, and I've also been reported to speak.

Though that prophecy is said to have never come true, there are more than enough currences

to make you question the existence of otherworldly entities.

This particular story drew much attention due to its eerie nature and even inspired films,

at least in part, such as poltergeist, paranormal activity, the witch, and the Blair Witch

Project.

But what makes this an even harder event to brush off as just another legend

is that this would become the first paranormal entity blamed for a death in official records

from the United States.

Back in 1817, a farmer named John Bell lived with his family along the Red River, near the now-known town of Adams.

This place is located in Tennessee, northwest of Robertson County.

He was out on a field doing his regular work.

When he stopped, noticed something.

It was a strange creature.

He claimed that it looked about the size of a dog.

Frightened.

John fired at the strange creature and then ran up to the area where it was. The creature was gone.
