And I'm Carolyn Beeler. It's been a month since the U.S. military stormed into Venezuela to capture its longtime president, Nicolas Maduro.

The country is showing some signs of change.

Acting President Delci Rodriguez is under pressure from the Trump administration to fix the

economy and ease repression. Her government passed a law to loosen controls over the oil

business and made small moves to open up the political space. Most recently, Rodriguez made a surprise announcement about a sweeping amnesty bill that could

free hundreds of political prisoners.
