Good morning. It is Saturday, October the 19th. There are 17 days remaining in this year's

0:14.4

extremely close and important presidential race, a contest that will likely be decided in

0:19.5

seven swing states. And I'm in one of those

0:21.7

swing states this weekend, Arizona, where Joe Biden won the race over Donald Trump by fewer

0:26.9

than 11,000 votes in 2020. It was Biden's narrowest margin of victory that year in terms of

0:32.9

total votes. It was also the closest presidential race in Arizona history. It's a state that has largely been

0:38.9

a Republican stronghold for the past 70 years. This year's election is almost certain to be

0:44.0

just as competitive. NBC News's latest national poll shows that in a two-way race, Kamala Harris

0:49.9

and Donald Trump are locked in a dead heat nationally. Both candidates receive 48% of support among those

0:55.9

surveyed, which includes registered voters from all over the country. Now, a closer look at the

presidential contest right here in Arizona shows a similarly tight race. In the Wall Street Journal's

1:06.3

latest poll of swing states, Harris has a slight two-point lead over Trump among registered voters in Arizona.

1:13.5

But a similar poll conducted by the New York Times and Sienna College shows Trump with a five-point

1:19.9

lead among likely voters in the state. Those polls are all within the margin of error. But the

1:25.2

bottom line is that the presidential race here in Arizona

1:27.5

is still very much a toss-up. With Election Day fast approaching, both campaigns have been focusing

1:32.9

their efforts on the swing states, and the candidates and their surrogates have been spending

1:36.8

a lot of time on the ground in those places. Kamala Harris made multiple stops across Michigan

1:42.5

yesterday. Today, she'll appear at an event in Detroit to help kick off the start of early in-person voting.

1:48.4

A Republican opponent was in the area yesterday as well. Donald Trump had a rally in Detroit last night, a city that is likely to play a deciding role in who wins Michigan this year.

1:58.3

It's also a city that he disparaged during an event in Detroit recently,
