President Truman attended services in Washington,

and in London, the King and Queen drove to St. Paul's Cathedral

in the first royal procession since the war began.

Prime Minister Winston Churchill is preparing to broadcast

his review of the war and his five years in office.

The broadcast on Columbia begins half an hour from now

at 3 p.m. Eastern wartime.

In the Pacific, the Tokyo radio says the Japanese

home island of Kyushu is being attacked by 900 carrier planes

and also by a small force of B-29s.
