I grew up without a mother, and I've stumbled along the way in life pretty much up until my 30s.

And I ended up just creating things that made me feel comfort in what we like to do as a family

and how we've kind of created this life from scratch,

not just food-wise, but our memories, our moments, our traditions.

A nonprofit started during the pandemic. But first, my conversation with Vanessa Lachey. Vanessa's new book is full of

recipes and entertaining ideas, but it's also a vulnerable look at her childhood. Well,

without giving too much joy, because if I if I said everything,

then who would want to get the buck? Nobody. Why buy the milk? Did you just call me a cow? No,

that's okay. Yeah, I did. So yes, my, my mom, she wanted a daughter more than anything in the

world and she got one. And that's why I think this whole thing was crazy to me when she ended up leaving.

We were living in Turkey when the Gulf War erupted and Saddam Hussein invaded.

And we were on a military base, and they said every U.S. citizen needs to get evacuated back to the state.
