And the Actress Vanessa Bell Calloway several years ago got a diagnosis of breast cancer.

She felt it in her bones, went to the doctor, and she was right.

And like so many other women, that moment changed her life. She talked about it on Torrey show. But when you had

the mastectomy it was difficult. It was emotionally challenging challenging well you know by that time I

was resolved this is what I did I went to the doctors once we found out that it was

indeed breast cancer and that I was going to have that mastectomy. I said am I going to die and they said oh no.

They wanted to start right away. I said well this is how we're going to do it. This was in September

as it I showed them the date in October

that we would do this surgery because my daughters,

one was a sophomore in college at Spellman

and one was a sophomore in high school here in Los Angeles.

And they both had some wonderful things coming up that fall

because school was back in that I wanted to be a part of.

I said because if I'm gonna die, ain't that I can do about it and I'm not gonna miss it. And if I'm not gonna die, I'm not to die and nothing I can do about it and I'm not going to miss it. So they looked

to me and so this is how we're going to do this. See because I can't I had cancer. I'm

only going to let cancer have me. I was going to run it. From that point on I decided I'm running this show and this is how we're going to do it. I'm going to do it on my terms. So I literally I went to my my my sophomore in high school her first homecoming and she was a cheerleader for the first time.

She was cheering at the homecoming dance and my oldest daughter was dancing with Moore House's banned and my husband's a more house

of love and I wasn't missing all that I don't miss the big things in my kids life because

if I was gonna die I damn sure one gonna miss it and if I wasn't gonna die I'm

sure one gonna miss it so And if I wasn't going to die, I'm sure one go miss it. So I literally left the

more house home coming on a Sunday and checked into the hospital that Monday

and had everything done. So I was resolved. I knew what was going to happen by then. It was all explained very
