Welcome into the latest edition of ESPNFC. I'm Dan Thomas, joined the studio today by Craig Burley and Stevie Nicol.

After Barcelona's dramatic comeback yesterday against Celta Vigo, pressure very much on Real Madrid,

going into their tie against Athletic Club, needing a victory to keep their title hopes alive and it looked like

they were going to die. Despite the fact they had the ball in the back of the net, later

on in the second half, it was chalked off-off, rightly so. Jude Bellingham, then wanted a penalty

that wasn't awarded. It looked like everything was going against Carlo Angelotti's side,

but a moment of magic, a moment of brilliance, a stunning

strike from Fetti Valverde late on in the tie would give Real Madrid a 1-0 victory to put them,

once again, just four points of Barcelona at the top of the table.

Luis Garcia joins us here from Lewis in a moment, but Craig Craig what a time for Valverde to do that.

Well just when we were coming on air live I was watching the monitor behind the cameras

and Ancelotti was given Féde Valverde a hug like it was a sunny hand seen for 20 years

because that's how important it was.

This looked like it was going to be a six point gap,

is now a four point gap.

Still a big hurdle to get over,

but it's there, isn't it?

And it came at the end,

which makes it even more special

because they were throwing the kitchen sink at it.

They felt aggrieved with the challenge on Bellingham.
