| 0:00.0 | Beyond then hello and welcome once again to IGN's weekly PlayStation show. |
| 0:03.4 | I'm your host Max Scoville and coming up, Valve is entering the console space as Sony puts more first-party games on PC. |
| 0:09.5 | What does this mean for the future of PlayStation? We have some ideas. |
| 0:13.5 | Plus a bunch of other silly stuff. Let's get into it. I'm joined once again by my good pal Brian Altano. Brian Altano, how you doing, Beyond? |
| 0:30.9 | Good to see you all, Beyond. Now, we want to talk about some, the fact that Valve announced a new |
| 0:36.7 | Steambox they |
| 0:37.5 | effectively are being like hey the Steam deck worked out we're we're going we're |
| 0:41.3 | going into the console space which is interesting because Xbox is kind of |
| 0:44.5 | pulling away from it or sort of pivoting to a more boutiquey direction while |
| 0:47.8 | putting Xbox on everything we're gonna get to that in a second but first we got a |
| 0:51.0 | little bit of housekeeping or rather, I should say, mouse keeping, |
| 0:54.7 | because it's mouse month, according to the game releases that are coming out this month. |
| 1:00.8 | It's mouse month? |
| 1:01.9 | It's not officially mouse month. |
| 1:04.5 | Legally, no one has said that it's mouse month, but based on the mouse game releases, it seems |
| 1:09.1 | like there's mice out there. |
| 1:11.6 | Just this week, Morsels came out, which is a roguelite creature collector. |
| 1:19.6 | It's sort of like a cross between binding of Isaac and Pokemon, I guess. |
| 1:23.6 | Okay. |
| 1:24.6 | And you play as a little mouse and you run around in these horrible sewers and they're full of filth and they're disgusting. It's the, uh, it's the same artist who did Nidhog 2. Oh, okay. So everything. So that can go either way. Yeah, it looks like a, a, a horrifying Nick tune kind of. Um, great. I played a couple hours of it and it's, it's fun. It's definitely, you know, um, you know, rogue lighty where this, it'll kind of, it'll kind of kick your ass. It also very rapidly does not seem like a mouse game because you're sort of your main dude is a mouse, but then you go and you like, you collect these gross creatures that you sort of transform into and they all have different abilities and powers and stuff. This looks beautiful. I want this. It's really gorgeous. And I honestly, I think like the, you know, just just when I was like, okay, I'm kind of, all right, I'm getting enough of this. It would throw some new thing into the mix. It's got these like, between every stage, there's like this big horrifying creature of some sort that you talk to. So you'll meet like a crocodile who's like, hey, man, want to play a game? And you can be like, yes or no. And if you say yes, it spits you into this like this arcade game called like, it's called like Squeak No Evil or something or Squeak No Weasel. And it's this like kind of just rudimentary schmup. |
| 2:35.4 | And then other times it'll be like, hey, you want to, it'll be like a bunch of garbage cans. They'll be like, hey, do you want a cool power up? And you're like, what is it? And it's like something really crappy. It'll be like a pile of just like XP or something. It's like nothing nothing too crazy. |
| 2:48.5 | But yeah, it's, it's, I'm, I'm into it. |
