Welcome into latest edition of ESPNFC. I'm Dan Thomas, joined the studio by Shaka

0:10.3

Hisslop. There's only one place to start today. And that is the breaking news. When

0:14.6

the last hour we have learned some significant news regarding what we saw this weekend, the

0:20.5

racist abuse that Vince Jr. suffered in Valencia. The Spanish committee have decided that

0:27.1

his red card has been rescinded. Remember he was sent off after the scuffle laid on. That

0:33.0

has been cancelled. More significantly, Valencia have been sank to the partial stadium closure

0:38.8

for five games. Now that's added to the news we learned earlier today, but three people

0:44.4

detained and released related to racist abuse that happened at the weekend. And remember

0:48.7

going back to January and that effigy that was hung, aired about Letty against Real

0:53.3

Madrid. Well today, four people have been arrested related to that incident. Right, for

1:00.3

more on this Pablo Zappeleta is with us, but Sid, I want to start with you. Have we ever

1:06.3

seen anything like this before in La Liga? No. And of course, one of the things that's

1:13.1

1:17.4

couple of days is this idea that there isn't the power to take severe action. No powers

1:23.1

have been changed. And yet here is, here is the action that we've been told before couldn't

1:28.0

be taken. The action to move against Valencia to close that stand for five days, for five

1:34.3

games rather, albeit there will be an appeals process that can be opened and to make the fine

1:39.6

of 45,000 euros against Valencia. Now that was done by the competition committee who have

1:45.6

the jurisdiction for these kind of decisions. A competition committee is essentially made

1:49.2

up of three men, one from the Federation, one from the League, and one from the Concejo

1:53.8

Srupa de la Reportis, which is essentially the equivalent of the Spanish sports ministry.

1:58.1

And that move has been made today and that to answer your question very directly is unprecedented.
