I'm Hello again, friends, and welcome to a very special edition of the 605 Super Podcast,

where we're going to look at Vader, who just passed away earlier today as we're

recording. Big Van Vader, Leon White, he's had many different names. Well, Leon White's his real name,

but he's had many different aliases in the world of professional wrestling, and we're going to talk

a little bit about them today. I wanted to quickly get something up for the listeners of the

super podcast, so we kind of put this together in a rushed fashion.

And I apologize for that.

not just a man who's been a great guest on the show, but someone who is now the host of his very own show.

John, how are you this week?

I'm doing okay. I'm, you know, certainly sorry to hear about Vader's passing, but I do know that it's been an uncomfortable last two or three years for him, so.

Yeah, and I guess he had been sick just recently. He'd been in the hospital battling pneumonia, and that is, unfortunately, his final battle, and I know he has had a lot of heart issues, I believe, even

though he had wrestled last year.

I think his last match is 2017, but a big guy, and he certainly leaves behind a big legacy.

John, so many people got to know your name in years past, either seeing it in the Wrestling Observer

newsletter or possibly on a tape trading list. I don't know. I've heard rumors. And based on the time that

you were involved with watching everything that happened in wrestling and potentially having

a tape trading list, those were the years, certainly, that Vader really made

a name for himself. What do you remember about when you first saw Vader? What do you remember

about when you first heard about Vader or at that time, Big Van Vader?
