Summary

I’ve loved fashion, art and BE-YOUTY ever since I was young, and I knew right away that I wanted to combine these passions and pursue makeup artistry.I’ve nurtured my keen eye for detail training with well-known celebrity makeup artists including, Francois Nars, Uzo, Trish McEvoy, Peter Philips and Lucia Pica, and my love of makeup artistry has taken me all over the world. I’ve spent the last 16 years traversing the U.S., Canada and Europe, and traveling is another passion that I plan to pursue more. My goal is to connect with all types of creative individuals from all over the world as I build on my extensive portfolio. I also specialize in One on One consultations, Red Carpet Glam and the list can go on and on. Now I live in the Big Apple, NYC. I love helping people feel BE-YOUTIFUL and showcase their inner BE-YOUTY through makeup. I know there are a plethora of talented makeup artist out there. However, what makes me different is my attention to detail, my precise application techniques on how -to enhance features on the face & of course my expertise in finding the right look that is perfect for you. (everyone can do make up, but is it perfect?) Let’s connect! I can’t wait to work with you."If you were born without wings, do nothing to prevent them from growing.”-Gabrielle Chanel--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/supportSupport the show

Hi guys, welcome back to skincare energy. This is your host, Ecta. And I'm super excited

0:06.8

because this is the first interview I have with the professional makeup artist. So without

0:11.5

further ado, I want to introduce you guys to Vadi Chun. Welcome to the show, Vadi.

0:17.1

Oh, thank you so much for having me. And I'm so excited to be here with you today to

0:26.2

chat a little bit about my makeup artist journey. So I would love that. I would love to get

0:32.5

started by you telling us how you really got involved in makeup and beauty. And like, you

0:38.7

know, just growing up, like, was it something you loved? Like from the get go, how did you

0:42.4

really get involved? Oh, man, where do I start? I started when I was 18 and it's been

0:52.6

a good 16 years now. And it's been a wonderful journey. It started off in Seattle where I'm

0:59.4

originally from. So I'm currently in New York City now, but it started off in Seattle as working

1:05.5

for Sephora for a few months. And I kind of like went from Sephora to a Nordstrom for about

1:11.8

eight months. And then I went on to freelancing. And I think that's freelancing is is where to go.

1:17.4

If you're trying to get recognized and noticed, you know, why do you say that? Like, why do you

1:22.6

think is it freelancing because you just have more flexibility or freelancing definitely gives you

1:28.0

more flexibility. So I was freelancing in the Seattle market for a few years before I moved down

1:34.1

to Los Angeles, LA, freelancing with brands. I was working for a Christian Dior and also

1:41.3

in North Cosmetics. So what I mean by freelancing is you get more exposure within the region. So

1:48.8

instead of tying yourself down to one store, you're actually visiting all the stores in the region,

1:54.9

just traveling around for that exposure for people to see you. I love that. That's really

2:00.3

cool. So like, I want to know like, how hard was it for you to get into professional makeup

2:05.6

artistry? Like, you know, I know that it's very competitive, right? The industry. So I want to

2:10.5

hear more about the journey of how you, you know, start working for clients like Christian Dior and
