Roxville, Maryland. Our newborn son about three weeks old contracted RSV.

My 10 month old recently had RSV and it was very, very terrible. He was in the hospital

for about five days on oxygen. There's really not much that doctors said they could do for him.

There was no eating. There's no medication to give him. And the most we could do is try to get as much

pdolite in him and just give him comfort care. If you've been paying attention to the news lately,

you've probably heard a lot of this. Hospitals across the country are seeing a spike in patients

with RSV. It's a respiratory illness that hospitalizes nearly 60,000 children every year under the age

of five. A former FDA commissioner is sounding the alarm on RSV that is a respiratory virus that

is suddenly putting a major strain on hospitals across the country. Children with RSV

overwhelming hospitals nationwide, pushing emergency centers to the brink. While respiratory

viruses of all kinds are typical this time of year, the recent surge in flu and COVID cases has

hit hospitals particularly hard. That includes the nation's children's hospitals, many of which

are reaching capacity as they treat kids infected with respiratory sensitial virus or RSV.

The Children's Hospital Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics have called the surge

in RSV cases a public health emergency. Who's most at risk for serious illness with RSV and what
