It's beginning to feel like a very real crisis between Washington and Jerusalem.

Internally in Israel, a real crisis shaking Netanyahu's government.

And we say goodbye to a real mensch, a politician who went where no Jewish-American politician went before.

It's unholy to Jews on the news.

And the news that broke overnight just before you and I sat down to talk to each other is this death at age 82 of former Senator Joe Lieberman of the United States,

represented Connecticut in the Senate.

I immediately have to say a very personal memory came, popped into my head,

which is of Simchchatura in Keshe Israel

synagogue in Washington, D.C. I'm going to guess in 1994, possibly the following year, where, you know,

I was taking part and dancing around the scroll, as you are required to do.

You know, in that style where you have one hand on the shoulder of the person in front of you

and the one hand behind and realize that the person who shoulder I had my hand on

was the senator from Connecticut, Joe Lieberman.

And he and I were then in that whole thing of going round in the circle,

then you have to hold

hands for a bit, then you're back in. And, you know, all I'm thinking is, of course I must

ask him a question. I'm a young reporter in Washington and he's a senator. What can I think of?

And in the end, you just did that sort of, I just did the smiling awkwardly as you do in forced,

in forced dancing.
