Hello everyone, and welcome to episode 226 of the Unofficial Universal Orlando Podcast.

I'm your host Lee, and I am on my own this

week and next week and the week after, kind of. This is our annual Christmas break and over the

next three shows we're going to be bringing you something a little bit different, something

actually I've been working on for quite some time and I just wanted to say thanks to everybody

who's been part of this.

But what I am proposing

for the next three weeks is a documentary

or a podimentary, if you like, is what I've

actually called it. Getting behind

what it means to be a Universal Orlando

fan. So, without further

ado, let's move on to the show.

Now we've all heard about the diehard Disney fans, you know, that live their lives according

to the Bible written by Mickey, making as many pilgrimages to the happiest place on earth as they possibly

can, spending every spare penny on Disney clothes, mugs and other home attire, and we can all attest

to that, but for a very different fandom. So hearing the many stories that we have, you know,

throughout the years of these Disney fans,

me, a self-confessed Universal Orlando fanboy, it set me off thinking about whether there were

universal fans out there that were as diehard as the Disney fanatics. And if so, what was it about

Universal Orlando that makes it such an integral part of their past, present and future?
