We wanted to record this as a resource for first-time visitors, kids, and people who want to know what is new at the resort since the last time they visited.

We've actually, it was a request of a listener who, um, his family would want to go for the first

Instead of you ever done anything like that that they can listen to, to get a sort of, in a bubble,

So, well, I'll go ahead and start things off here.

The Universal Orlando Resort opened to the public on June 7th, 1990, and consisted of one park, Universal Studios, Florida.

26 years later, the resort consists of two theme parks, Universal Studios, Florida, and Islands of Adventure, a shopping and entertainment district, citywalk, and

five on-site hotels, the Portofino Bay, the Royal Pacific, the Hard Rock, the Cabana Bay Beach

Resort, and the brand new Sapphire Falls Hotel.

Yes, the resort is continuing to expand, and next year we'll see the opening of the new

water theme park, Volcano Bay, and we've already seen permits have surfaced for a sixth mystery on-site hotel.

Now, on top of this, Universal Orlando, I've recently purchased a plot of land down by the Orange County Convention Center that consists of 475 acres.
