Summary

We are facing an epidemic of depression, despair, and suicidal thoughts among our teenagers. Have you seen it in your own home? It is no coincidence that these numbers are skyrocketing along with the rapid growth in teens being engrossed in social media. So what can we as parents do? Do we need to take away their phones or are there other ways to keep our children away from the most toxic influences online?

Utah is taking groundbreaking steps by forcing residents to be eighteen years old to create a social media account or have parental permission if they are younger. New legislation there also requires users to prove they are adults before being allowed to access pornographic sites.

Sara welcomes Michigan State University Law Professor Adam Candeub, who is also a senior fellow at the Center for Renewing America. Prof. Candeub explains why he believes Utah is on the right track and that requiring proof of identification every time people log on will "transform the internet."

Hey, everyone. I'm back. I'm back from Hungary and I am I got to tell you it was an amazing,

0:12.5

amazing journey. I can't thank the the people that brought me their CPAC. Thank you to match

0:19.9

lab. Thank you to CPAC Hungary. Today, I want to talk to you about protecting your children

0:25.8

because this is such a big issue right now. Even in Hungary and I'm going to bring this up.

0:30.4

The reason why I bring this up is that one of the big issues for the Hungarian government

0:35.2

is protecting their children from predators. So 18 and under, you can't miss with the kids there.

0:41.2

You can't teach trans-genderism in schools. You don't push all of these type of sexual education

0:48.8

platforms that we've seen extraordinarily extreme, not based on science, but based on, oh,

0:55.2

whatever you feel in Hungary right now, that is not happening. There's laws that protect

1:01.6

all children under 18 and in the same tone protect the parents. Well, this is from people

1:08.6

pushing their children in certain directions without their knowledge. And we saw that here in

1:12.0

the United States, right? It's hard to believe, but children getting sex changes and inhibitors

1:20.4

for puberty, puberty inhibitors and blockers without the permission of the parents.

1:27.2

And we see teachers that think they know better for children than what their own parents know.

1:32.0

Well, that is not happening at all. And Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was very frank and he said to me,

1:38.7

that that was one of the big issues that he's having with the United States State Department as well

1:42.4

as the Biden administration, is that they see it his decision and his government's decision and

1:48.2

his nation's decision, by the way. This is because the majority of people in Hungary,

1:53.8

they knew what life was like underneath an authoritarian regime like Stalin and others that

2:00.3

and the USSR that basically took control of their families, took away parental rights,

2:06.1

owned basically their children and their land and everything. They had nothing. They had nothing.

2:12.2

And they sent a very clear warning that that will never happen in Hungary. So now, of course,
