People spend an average of 4.7 hours in front of their phone….imagine what else you could be doing with your time?

 

In this episode, we are talking about how our brain has gone to dogs--or should I say phones-- and what we can do to separate ourselves from the screen. Society has changed over the years, but this change is something no one saw coming. How intensely we have become attached to screens and scrolling is still a mystery (at least to me) but many of us now are starting to see the changes this new lifestyle has brought on.

 

These devices have been linked to numerous mental and physical drawbacks, not to mention it can take a toll on our relationships. We need to give ourselves a chance to unplug and relax from the world around us. Simple changes can go a long way to help create these tech-free times for yourself.

 

Today's episode covers key changes you can make to unplug and unwind, and here's a few starter strategies:

• Establishing what times are 'sacred' such as your family time -- and making a commitment to leave your phone in another room during those times
• Investing in getting a watch or a wall clock so that you don't have to always check your phone for the time and be sucked into social media
• A mindset shift around what it really means to 'live in the moment' and how to prioritize yourself in your experiences

 

I want you to take some time and think about what changes you can make to give yourself a more tech-free environment. Give yourself the freedom from your device and live in the moment!
