Hello and welcome,

Hello and welcome everybody to a Copa America-centric edition of the Total Soccer show.

My name is Taylor Rockwell, and yes, we've got voice notes from Graham and Ryan about the

0:31.5

day's Eurro's action, a day which saw Scotland eliminated from the tournament at the hands of a

late-late winner from Hungary and saw the hands of a late, late winner from Hungary,

and saw the Swiss take a first half lead over Germany all the way until injury time, when the legend himself, Nicholas Fulcrugg bagged an equalizer. But again, who cares about that? Because that's Europe. We don't care about Europe. We've got a U.S. victory in the Copa America to break down commiserations to Graham. I kind of forgot Scotland were eliminated. I. I'm sorry, Graham. I'm not sorry, Ryan. To break down the USA's win over Bolivia in the Cop America, I'm joined by a man who seemingly spent about 20% of his evening talking to myself and Ryan Bailey on the VR shows, 30% avoiding stadium security personnel, and then 50% watching the game itself. It's Joe Lowry. Hello, Joe. Taylor, that is, man, almost spot on. I haven't done the math, but that feels like a pretty darn accurate breakdown of how I spent my evening here in Arlington, Texas. I've been dodging in and out. I've been in stairwells. I'm now recording in my car. Sweating profusely along the way.

1:33.7

I don't know if Lissers can hear the sweat beads dripping down. This is going to be a great show because the Copa America is here for the United States. I'm pumped. Until Joe passes out. Because a little

bit of background, we usually, when we are on location, either one of us or both of us or a group of us, we will try to find a spot in stadium because after the game, you usually have the broadcast suites next to the press box or around the press box and you can find a room that has since been abandoned. You can go in and no one's going to bother you. You can sit and record. That was the plan for today, with Joe having already been chased out by one stadium personnel person for having the audacity to film a video for like five seconds, but that's unacceptable.

2:08.1

And so Joe couldn't find those rooms is now recording in his car in the parking lot with the windows up and no air on.

2:15.0

Joe, that isn't allowed for dogs.

2:17.3

Right. So I'm not sure how it's going to go for an hour long recording.

2:20.5

I'm not going to lie, that thought did cross my mind about how you're definitely not supposed to leave a dog

2:16.4

in a car with the windows all the way up.

2:19.2

You know, I might crack one later on.

2:21.0

I was going to record it with the air on in my vehicle

2:22.6

and then all of a sudden my mic started making this weird buzzing sound

2:24.9

and when I turned the car off, it stopped doing that.

2:28.2

So there's something electronic in of a sudden my mic started making this weird buzzing sound and when

2:30.1

I turned the car off it stopped doing that so there's something electronic in the car that my mic is not

2:34.8

happy about I've recorded in some pretty weird places over the years for TSS I've recorded in

2:38.7

hotel closets I've recorded underneath my my loft bed in a previous residence I've recorded a voice note in the car in front of the cotton bowl the other night and like a 50 feet away from a giant stone elephant because that is a completely bizarre stadium set up. And now I'm just, you know, basking in the glow of AT&T Stadium. I'm technically parked, Taylor, in a Walmart parking lot. Yes, that is correct. And I'm not even in the AT&T stadium parking lot because they didn't pass out parking passes until 90 minutes before the game, and I got there four hours before the game. So my car's been sitting in this Walmart parking lot. It's been a weird day, man. It's been a weird day. You did get your credential, though? That was a concern yesterday. Yeah, picked up my credential. I accidentally mapped to the wrong place in the morning But that was my bad, not Commonwealth's. Eventually got my credential.

2:44.2

The trouble, this is pretty inside baseball stuff, but hopefully it's interesting a little bit to people who kind of want the behind the scenes look. The credentialing process for the Copa America was all in Spanish, and you go on their website, which is fine. common bowls run out of Paraguay, I believe, and so I get that. I'm the outsider here, not them. And I go on the website to apply. This is probably back in April or maybe the beginning of May. And there are three language options, Spanish, Portuguese, and English. I think, great. This is very helpful. I'll pick English. Everything's going to be very clear. I click on English and it's still in Spanish. I click on Portuguese just for fun, not because I'm flexing with my
