Welcome to the Finding Joy in Your Home Podcast. I am your host, Jamie Valmay, and this is the podcast where we blend to deeply theological topics with thoroughly practical application, all for God's glory.

0:12.4

Hey, ladies, welcome back to my podcast. I am very glad that you were joining me here. As we are heading into the month of December. December has not gone quite the way

0:23.7

that we had anticipated yet, which is actually what I was going to talk about on the podcast

0:28.4

tonight. We're going to talk about Christmas traditions. I had a great thing to chat about

0:33.6

when things don't really go the way you want, especially with Christmas and just wanting

0:39.7

to make special memories for your family. However, we're not doing that episode tonight. I will do

0:44.5

that next week because we have had a bit of a rough week around here. And so we are, I'm just

0:51.1

changing up the schedule a little bit to let you know. So this last week,

0:55.5

my two-year-old smashed his toe and needed several stitches. And it was actually a really,

1:04.3

really deep cut. And he's doing great. Praise the Lord that it wasn't worse. But he has,

1:10.1

as you can understand, he's had a rough go of it this week. It's been tough on him. It's been a week now since he hurt his toe. And only today did he start walking on it and putting weight on it. So it's been a rough week for him. And then midway through the week, he came down with a fever. And our family's been dealing with

1:29.0

this weird sickness, which hasn't really been a super hard sickness. Praise the Lord. But the fevers

1:34.7

and throwing up have just been kind of cycling through. And I have felt the worst for the two-year-old

1:39.7

because he has his poor toe and has a fever. And then my three-month-old got the fever, which, you know,

1:46.1

was always scary when they're little. Thankfully, his fever broke. He's fine. I'm very glad it wasn't

1:51.2

like a coughing sickness or anything like that for him. He just had a fever for about 24 hours,

1:57.1

and he's doing good now. But we also had been wrapping up our cookbook launch and doing

2:02.5

final details on that. And so it has been an absolute ringer of a week for us around here.

2:09.6

And so I am taking the night off and I'm not going to do the episode that I was planning. So all of that to say,

2:19.5

plans just don't always go the way that we want. And we actually, because of that, we didn't

2:24.4

get to do this really fun Christmas thing that we had wanted to, this really cool light

2:27.8

ceremony thing that they do here. And it's just, it's not been like the week that I envisioned. And that's okay. And tomorrow's
