Summary

The Rolling Stones once famously sang, "You can't always get what you want," to a crowd of 1.5 million people in Rio de Janeiro in 2006. And while their lyric has become one of the most memorable musical verses of all time, it is not techincally correct. In today's episode, Andrew shares a CIA tactic that flies in the face of culture, self-help, and social norms. You know, I've been doing a lot of traveling for business and for clients, but I was actually really excited recently to do some travel for family because we had a wedding in our network of friends and family.

what was surprising to me was how often they did not feel confident or capable to complain

1:58.8

about what was happening to them. Instead, they felt like they had to just

kind of suck it up. They had to accept the situation and they had to just move forward. Now, I

2:09.3

understand that there is absolutely an element of having to adapt. And I'm not saying anything bad

2:15.9

about adaptation or about being graceful when bad things happen.
