Summary
The USC Triple-Double Podcast returns with co-hosts Shotgun Spratling and Connor Morrissette (aka Mr. Triple Double) breaking down the Women of Troy's NCAA tournament selection and their potential tournament run, which will begin at the Galen Center Saturday at 1:30 p.m. PDT against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Shotgun and Connor wrap up the disappointing men's season and talk about how different the roster will look next year with at least half the team expected to exit with Boogie Ellis, DJ Rodman and Joshua Morgan out of eligibility; Isaiah Collier expected to depart to be a first-round draft pick; and Kijani Wright, Oziyah Sellers and walk-on Zach Brooker already having entered the NCAA transfer portal. They also provide an NCAA transfer portal wish list of what they'd like to see the Trojans try to add to their roster this offseason.
The Women of Troy enter the NCAA tournament No. 3 in the final Associated Press poll of the season, their highest ranking in the final top 25 poll since Cheryl Miller was on campus. The Trojans also earned the No. 3 overall seed in the NCAA tournament and received a favorable bracket despite Ohio State being the No. 2 seed and Connecticut being the No. 3 seed in USC's Portland 3 Regional.
After a short break, Shotgun and Connor preview the upcoming matchup and potential matchups for the Women of Troy this weekend at the Galen Center, including a Texas A&M-Corpus Christi team that may be a No. 16-seed, but could challenge USC with its defense, one of the nation's best in field goal percentage defense and three-point percentage defense. The podcasting duo also look forward to this week's men's Pac-12 Tournament where the Trojans will take on Washington at noon on Wednesday with the winner advancing to face top-seed Arizona Thursday at noon.
