Summary
The USC Triple-Double PodcastĀ returns with co-hosts Shotgun SpratlingĀ andĀ Connor MorrissetteĀ (aka Mr. Triple Double) breaking down the Women of Troy's big rivalry win over UCLA in a top 10 matchup at a sold out Galen Center and looking at the recent skid of a banged-up men's team.
The Women of Troy remain jumped up to No. 6 in the Associated Press top 25 poll after their big Crosstown Showdown victory, but have no time to rest on their laurels with another huge Pac-12 week coming up. The cursed season for the men's team continued as the Trojans followed their first winning streak since November with more injuries and more losses, dropping three starters and three straight games.
Shotgun and Connor break down all the latest action for both teams, including looking closely at former No. 1 overall recruits JuJu Watkins and Isaiah Collier, focusing the spotlight on Bronny James and looking at exactly where the Trojans stand statistically and in the standings. The podcasting duo also look at the positives and negatives of the recent USC basketball action from both squads and look forward to the next week to preview what lies ahead. For the men, they complete their three-game stretch away from home this weekend when they take on Arizona State while the Women of Troy prepare for the second-toughest road trip in the Pac-12 this season, going to No. 20 Utah and No. 3 Colorado.
USC women's assistant coach Courtney Jaco also joins the show to discuss the Crosstown Showdown win and what the Trojans improved upon to be able to take the victory in the second matchup against the No. 2 Bruins in two weeks. Jaco talks about her experience this season watching the interest in the team grow, culminating in Sunday's packed house at Galen where she couldn't even communicate with the players on the court at times. USC's career three-point percentage leader also chats about what advice she gives shooters when they get into a slump.
