Acton, acton, welcome to We Have Ways of Making You Talk with me James Holland and we've

got another special episode today recorded while I was at D-Day Ohio back in August.

An enormous festival on the shores of Lake Erie in America which celebrates the Second

World War.

This is a second part of the series, so make sure you listen to that first.

I tried something a little different in this podcast, so expect some off-the-cuff interviews,

depending on landing craft, and my thoughts on a really unforgettable experience.

As I was walking the ground, do forgive the wind and background noise, but hopefully that

adds to the whole experience, certainly a bit of musketry going on in the background.

Well, I've now come up onto the top of the bluff which is a huge camp for some 1300

actors.

The guys up here are all US and Duke forces and I'm in first army headquarters and it's

just fantastic because you've got a desk with typewriters and you've got camp beds and

it's all karky and it smells of canvas and you're just getting that kind of a metal and

oil and wood and grass and oils on earth.

There's a garand over there and a radio set and it feels very atmospheric and I'm not

going to lie.
