Hello everybody, here we are with Daniel Ganza, and he's got a book out called USA, The

0:09.4

Rufluss Empire, how the CIA has played a huge part in its expansion. Congratulations on

0:17.6

the book, and I'm looking at the contents table. The scope and breadth of this book is

0:26.2

it will probably take a weekend to interview you. What's going on here? Thanks for coming

0:32.1

on. Well, yeah, that's the book Sean, and thanks a lot for inviting me so we can talk

0:39.2

about it. We've got 30 minutes this evening, and I'd like to focus on the CIA. What are

0:47.3

your definitions of the CIA? Who do they work for? What do they do? What are they supposed

0:51.0

to do? They work for the rich to protect their vested interests. And how do they enforce

0:59.2

that? Well, for instance, you know, the CIA has one part which you call the analytic

1:07.0

department. So they look at world structures, see how many people live in Russia, how many

1:12.2

tanks they are in Russia, see whether the Chinese are building a new ship and these things.

1:19.3

read and then write and read and write and read. Very much like journalists, like professors

1:32.4

at university, they are the study guys. But there's another part which is the COVID action

1:38.0

department. And within the CIA, this COVID action department, for instance, can go in another

1:43.7

country and arm another group, which will then get into fighting with another group. So

1:50.0

in Nicaragua, they armed the contras and the contras would then fight with the Sandinistas.

1:56.7

And in Afghanistan, the CIA obviously was training Al Qaeda of Osama bin Laden in the 1980s

2:06.7

and then Al Qaeda was fighting the Soviets. So you basically arm somebody who then kills

2:11.9

your enemies. That's the paramilitary stuff. And specific examples, which make it easy

2:19.1

to understand that the CIA is protecting vested interests, is that the CIA in 1954 overthrew

2:26.9

the government of Guatemala. The government at the time of Jacobo Arbins was the president.
