pointed statement was delivered by China's top foreign policy official Wang Yi on the last day

of a global security conference. He was responding to comments by Anthony Blinken, his American counterpart,

who on Saturday warned the Chinese not to give Russia weapons and ammunition to support its

invasion of Ukraine. We have seen them provide non-lethal support to Russia for use in Ukraine.

The concern that we have now is based on information we have that they're considering providing

lethal support, and we've made very clear to them that that would cause a serious problem for

us and in our relationship. I asked our diplomatic correspondent, James Landel, what we should make

of the Chinese response? Well, I think this is, you know, a relatively predictable response from

the Chinese. If the Americans are accusing them of supporting the Russians with, you know,

military hardware and not just, you know, information and diplomatic support. The predictable
