The US Supreme Court has struck down a ban on a gun accessory called a bump stock that enables semi-automatic

rifles to fire more quickly. Six bullets a second. They were banned by Donald

Trump after one of the most deadly shootings in US history but the court

ruled it was unconstitutional. My colleague Paul Moss spoke to our

correspondent in Washington, Nomea Iqbal. This ban on bompstocks was

actually enacted back in 2018 and that was a year after 60 people were killed at a Las Vegas music festival.

It was one of the deadliest mass shootings in US modern history.

More than 800 were injured and the gunman in that incident

used a bump stock to fire more than a thousand rounds of ammunition and so this

was a policy this was a decision that was brought in by the Trump administration.

It was actually a major decision in recent years to address the nation's gun violence problem.

It is worth adding that this ruling does not mean that they will suddenly be readily
