We have two significant developments to cover in this episode today. The United States is sending

ground forces to the region for the first time in this conflict, at least the most significant

movement we've seen thus far. In overnight, U.S. forces struck Kark Island, the most important

piece of Iran's oil infrastructure. We're going to break both of these down today. What is actually

being sent to the

region, what Korg Island is, and there's probably a different pronunciation of that, but nonetheless,

here we are. Also, dive into what the president has said about that. That's obviously worth

paying attention to as well. So let's get into it. Defense Secretary, Pete Hagen, has approved a formal request for a U.S. Central Command

at CETCO for an amphibious ready group.

And that's an ARG.

I'm sure the Marines, again, have a unique way pronouncing that.

And that's attached to a Marine, Expeditionary Unit, or a

MU. That approval is now being widely reporting the media, and according to those, it came from

three U.S. officials close to Secretary Hexhead. The force is built around three ships, the USS Tripoli,

USS San Diego, and the USS New Orleans. Now there's feeding towards the Middle East from Asia right now.

The Tripoli is normally based in Japan.

And from what we can tell, the standard Marine Corps basing in this region is consistent

with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.

However, that has not been confirmed, or at least I have not seen it yet.

This MU has roughly 5,000 personnel attached to it, and embedded inside that number is

2,200 U.S. Marines.
