Summary

There are reports that the US coastguard may be trying to intercept another oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela, but why is US oil firm Chevron still operating in the country?

Also in the programme: Israel's security cabinet approves 19 new settlements in the occupied West Bank; and an elegy for the US penny that is no longer being produced after 230 years.

And as we begin our program, there is a developing story and we start in the

0:23.7

international waters off the coast of Venezuela. U.S. forces are said to be in active pursuit

0:30.2

of another oil tanker. They've already intercepted two vessels in the past two weeks.

0:36.7

Media are now quoting unnamed US officials

0:39.4

saying the pursuit involves a sanction vessel, which is part, they say, of Venezuela's illegal

Let's see if we can get the latest details from our correspondent

are convinced that it is being pursued actively. That's reported by our US partner, CBS News,

1:14.2

who have spoken to officials. Now, what we don't know, Lee's, of course, is what does an active

1:19.1

pursuit look like? There have been some very dramatic videos out there, including the one from

1:25.0

yesterday's pre-dawn raid, where there are helicopters and a very, very

1:29.0

strong underpinning of military forces backing up the Coast Guard. We don't know at what stage

1:34.0

this is at. But at this point, we are confident to say that the US Coast Guard, according to

1:38.7

official sources speaking to our US partner, CBS News, are pursuing one.

1:43.1

So then this is the second ship the US has had in its sights this weekend, the third

1:49.1

in total.
