Summary
Emma Raducanu is the US Open champion. At 18, on just her second Grand Slam appearance, she qualified and went all the way to the title without dropping a set. There's never been anything else like it in tennis.
At the end of an incredible night, Catherine and Matt react to her 6-4 6-3 win over Leylah Fernandez, the high-quality tennis on display, the feeling of joy it elicited, the extraordinary post-match speech by Fernandez, and why it's a moment beyond compare.
Looking ahead to the men's final, is Daniil Medvedev ready to win his first major title? And will The Grand Slam being on the line make Novak Djokovic unstoppable?
We also run through all the results and stories from the doubles and wheelchair events.

| 0:22.0 | Well, I think we've all just witnessed one of the greatest sporting stories of all time. And frankly, |
| 0:28.8 | all witnessing because Matt and I are watching it on replay as we record this podcast. Emma |
| 0:35.1 | Raducarni, who was sitting her A-levels in Bromley in Kent three months ago, is the US Open Champion. |
| 0:46.3 | She is the only qualifier to have ever won a Grand Slam title in Men's or Women's tennis. She's |
| 0:52.5 | the first British woman to win a Grand Slam title since Virginia Wade won Wimbledon in 1987 |
| 0:59.2 | and Virginia Wade beamed on in the crowd in the Arthur Ashtadeum tonight as Emma Raducarni won |
| 1:06.4 | that title. I could go on. I really could go on for a very long time, but the records, the words, |
| 1:17.6 | the various different forms of stuttering that the pundits of all sorts have done, certainly on our |
| 1:28.6 | prime video coverage tonight. I'm not sure any of it can really capture the magic and the wonder |
| 1:39.1 | of what Emma Raducarni was achieved. So I'm going to throw this hot potato over to you, Matt |
| 1:47.3 | and hope that you can have a fist at it because I'm at a bit of a loss. It's too much. |
| 1:55.9 | It is. It is too much. Yeah, like this really is going to be something that is looked back on |
| 2:02.0 | in 10 years, 20 years, 50 years, 100 years. This is something extraordinary that we've witnessed |
| 2:10.6 | tonight and this frankly this whole tournament. It's very hard to wrap your head around what's happened. |
| 2:18.8 | I think quite naturally we often look for comparisons and to try and make sense of things, but they |
| 2:25.0 | just are not any comparisons and it's not an age thing. In fact, one of the least remarkable things |
| 2:32.2 | about this is that she's 18. It is remarkable, of course it is, but that has been done before. Teen |
| 2:38.4 | ages have won grand slams before, less and less often as to be said, it's not such a regular |
| 2:47.0 | phenomenon as it used to be, but it's happened and they've gone deep in slams. But for me, it's |
