Summary
The men’s US Open final is set: Alexander Zverev vs Dominic Thiem. In the first half of the pod we discuss how they both got there in two contrasting semi-final matches.
In part two, the great Mary Carillo, who was in the stadium for the women’s semi-finals, speaks to David about why it was one of the greatest nights of tennis she can remember. She also looks ahead to the final, gives an insight into what it’s like to be on site at this most extraordinary of US Opens, and explains why it feels so special for her.
The Tennis Podcast is presented by Catherine Whitaker and David Law, and features Matt Roberts. It is produced weekly year-round, and daily during the Grand Slam tournaments. It is crowdfunded by listeners each December.

| 0:46.7 | And what it's left us with is Alexander's very coming back from two sets to love down |
| 0:52.4 | to beat Pablo Carino Bustic in five and then Dominic team squeezing past Daniel Mervedeven, |
| 0:58.6 | a couple of tie breaks to at least get something of an earlier night, which is not something that |

| 1:25.3 | Yes, just thinking back to something Naomi Sarka said yesterday, which was, I don't really sleep |
| 1:30.9 | during grand slams and I'm relating to that very, very hard at the moment. I mean, it's only been, |
| 1:39.7 | what is it, eight months, nine months since we had a grand slam. I feel like I've forgotten |
| 1:44.1 | how they work. Like this is, this is quite normal really, but it's, it has hit me hard. |
| 1:50.8 | Yeah, I think, I think we get hardened to it, but I think the other thing you have to bear in mind |
| 1:55.9 | is it's the US Open and the Australian Open. That's the thing for us, they're the all-nighters, |
