Good afternoon, everybody.

I'm Jeff Webb, the CEO of the Alumni Association and Foundation, and I just want to thank you for being here.

This is the first time we've done anything like this. Bringing in experts to talk about a historical topic and just to have midshipment here.

We've got the head of the Naval Institute here. I think the President of St. John's College is coming by

and then other alumni and friends and community members. It's just really terrific to bring this group together. I do want

to credit before we kick off Jimmy DeButs, who is our shipmate editor, who is passionate about

telling important stories of our alumni and the Navy and the Marine Corps. And he got this

whole ball rolling. And we've been doing interviews and

stories and you're gonna hear about that a little bit today and then along

the way he has roped in other people to help him and I just want to recognize

Bill Tody here as well who got connected with Jimmy and he talked about this idea

and he jumped on and he brought this whole group together.

So we're appreciative for all of the panelists being here,

and just to explore this interesting and important topic for the Naval Academy and the Navy.

So with that, we will kick off the video.

We've all studied World War II.

To hear from someone who was there, even if you've heard stories before, to hear from one of our

alumni about their personal experiences just brings that important period to life for us.

But it's also a reminder like the that important period to life for us.

But it's also a reminder, like the stories and to share those stories and I'll learn you a story. I'll tell you a story.
