I'm Ben Norton, joined with my co-host Max Blumenthal, and this is part two of our discussion with Camilo Mejia, a U.S. anti-war veteran who served in the Iraq War and eventually spoke out against the Iraq War. He in fact became one of the first major conscientious objectors.

He exposed U.S. war crimes and actually put his own body on the line,

risking serious consequences.

He went to prison for exposing these U.S. war crimes abroad.

And in the first part of this episode, we made some really

important links that haven't really been discussed enough between police brutality and state

violence, white supremacy, and imperialism, and the U.S. military. We talked about how there are still

many U.S. military bases that are named after

Confederate generals, people who led a war to defend slavery and white supremacy. But we also

talked even more deeply, much more scandalously, about how the Minneapolis cop, the

Minneapolis murderer who killed George Floyd by putting his knee on George Floyd,

this black man's neck for eight minutes. This killer cop is named Derek Chauvin.

And Derek Chauvin, actually, before serving Minneapolis, had previously worked on a

U.S. military base called Fort Benning. And we talked in part one about how Fort Benning,

named after a notorious Confederate general, is also, just so happens to be the home to the notorious

U.S. School of the America, is also known

as the School of the Assassins, where it also rebranded, and it's now called Winsek, awful rebranding,

but it's the school of the assassins. And there, the U.S. has trained torturers and

coup mongers and murderers across Latin America.
