The U.S. has announced that it is freezing nearly all foreign aid, other than military assistance to Israel and Egypt.

Now, the sweeping order looks like it will impact everything from development assistance to military aid.

The U.S. program to send money to countries in just about every corner of the face of the planet,

well, that is now coming to an end. And this is part of a broader trend to end U.S. trade deficits, to make it

so that other countries are not living off of us all the time, and also make NATO allies pay their

fair share to cut United Nations programs, not in our interests or even against our interests,

and a whole lot of other things.

And look, on Friday, the Trump administration froze nearly all foreign aid.

The only exception, the only things they did not freeze are military assistance to Israel

and military assistance to Egypt. Even the assistance to Ukraine is currently

on hold. The Guardian said this. It said the U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has ordered a halt

to virtually all foreign aid, but made an exception for funding to Israel and Egypt, according to an

internal memo to staff at the U.S. State Department.

It said, quote, no new funds shall be obligated for new awards or extensions of existing awards

until each proposed new award or extension has been reviewed or approved, as consistent with

President Trump's agenda, said the memo.
