also announced eight to India. On Monday, India reported more than 354,000 new infections and 2800

deaths. The eight effort here is a notable change. US President Joe Biden has said he wants to

focus on his own country's vaccination efforts first, and European countries consumed by their

own supply problems had blocked vaccine exports. I asked the FT's EU diplomatic correspondent,
