0:22.7	Just three weeks into 2023 and it's already been a horrific year when it comes to gun violence.
0:29.4	On Saturday, a gunman opened fire at a Lunar New Year celebration in Monterey Park,
0:36.3	a city which is east of Los Angeles that has a very large Asian-American community.
0:41.5	At least 11 people were killed and 9 others were injured.
0:46.7	Many of the victims were Asian-American immigrants and less than 48 hours later, in Half Moon Bay,
0:53.2	a city about 30 miles south of San Francisco.
0:56.7	Another gunman opened fire on Monday afternoon at two different farms, killing seven people.
1:03.4	Local officials said many of the victims were Chinese farm workers.
1:07.9	Our hearts are with the families and the communities affected in this horrific time.
