| 0:00.0 | So there are cool few things right off the back that I liked about WWE Clash in Italy, as I'm about to say, Paris. |
| 0:04.9 | That was an event from a different year. I mean, what, this crowd was fantastic, and they even sang Gunther to the ring. So I guess that was a bit like going to a classical performance which makes no sense. And Cory Rhodes came out with his big skull mask, one of the eye had damage to it like he was a video game bust. but of course that was a wink-wink nudge, |
| 0:21.1 | back to what happened at WrestleMania. |
| 0:23.1 | Let's not stand on to tell you, Mr Wayne. That deserves it up. Also, all my friends, and welcome to ups and downs, the only wrestling of you show you need with me, Simon Miller, the pro wrestling content creator and professional wrestler. I shall be competing for progress wrestling on Sunday up in Manchester and the 02 Rit, so I hope to see you there. And also wonderfully, this video is sponsored by Surfshark. Which does mean if you click the link in the description below, you were going to get 87% off a two-year plan. They're going to give you three months free, and they're going to give you a gift card from Amazon up to $30, which means you're going to have a great time. And don't forget having a VPN in |
| 0:54.3 | 2006 is the way to go, especially when it comes to pro wrestling. Let's just say that way you can watch content the way you want to watch content. So thank you very much to Surfshark, but as for now, we're up and a doubt. So right, let's talk Gunther v. Cody Rhodes, W.W.E. title. It was a very good match because of course it was. And, you know, Cody was playing the poor fool who |
| 1:13.5 | would jump at Gunther. He would go, no, no. Rhodes, W-W-E title. It was a very good match because of course it was. And, you know, Cody was |
| 1:12.1 | playing the poor fool who would jump a gun thing. He would go, no, no, and he'd chop him out of me there. Then Cody'd be on the floor going, oh my gosh, I've been so much pain. It's everything you ever wanted it to be. I would say, though, if we are going to talk about this PLE overall, I just kind of think the WW could have a bit more fun. |
| 1:27.3 | Now, once again, I'm not talking about the matches, |
| 1:29.7 | but maybe that is kind of the weird contradictory problem here. Everybody in the modern day can go out there and put on a, not a classic, so to speak, but put on good stuff between bell to bell. But that does mean when it comes to the booking and maybe some of the finishes, we could just try to do something a little bit different. We'll park it for now and I'll get there in a second. Of course, Cody Rhodes would freak out any time Gunther would go for the choke because that's the story that we've been telling. And Gunther took the pedigree at one point and I was like, kind of interesting that Cody and Seth Rollins both have now doubled down on that pedigree. When we got a power bomb from Gunther, he went from the splash, he went into Cody's knees, when Cody Rhodes hit the crossroads for the one two-oo. And I was like, yeah, that always happens. It's like when Finn Ballard goes to the Kuplagra the first time, the first time you may as well ignore because it never works. There's been kind of a tease for the finish as well because Gunther finally locked on the sleeper and yes Cody Rote had not got his eight hours because he was freaking out, but he escaped this by putting his foot on the ropes. Well, yeah, Gunther and old Coates had a bit of exchange. Cody Roads hit the crossroads, and he got the three, and even the fans who were rapturous all night were a bit like, well, I wasn't expecting that. It ended around 12 minutes and basically came out nowhere. And that's because, my friends, we were doing shenanigans. After as Gunth was like a Muppet going, no, no, I can't believe you did this to me. And that's because, yes, when you do look a little bit closer, can you believe it? Gunther's foot wasn't just under the bottom rope. It was in another district, and that Cody Rhodes would have to wait and see what happens here. When he made the three count, around at two point and a half, he pulled that foot away from the ropes, so maybe he knew what he was doing. And sure, of course, we're going to do this again, much like Britney Spears, and I bet then Gunther will become the WWE champion. But it also means after all those retirements, Goldberg, AJ |
| 3:08.2 | Stiles and John Sina, Gunther just did suffer his first loss for a while. Sometimes I do think you have to look off into the distance and question that, I mean, do we really need to do it here, or could we have pulled the trigger and actually done the title change? And once again, the match of Super Final had a great old time, they are excellent workers, I am going to give it an up. |
| 3:24.7 | And Kermaslam, for example, |
| 3:26.3 | I bet we do do Guta versus Cody Rhodes part 79. But that's what I mean. This will be moonwalk back to what I was just talking about. That's what WW always does. We'll kind of plant a seed here on a quote unquote bee show and we'll wait until one of our big four and that's when we'll get into it. Just think given where we are on the state of everything right now, sometimes you've got to take a bit of a risk. I mean, maybe you look back in six months' time ago, we shouldn't have done that, but it's also Gunther, and I check my statistics, Gunther is pretty good. So, like, why? Why can't Gunther be champion right now? I don't know what the argument is |
| 3:58.4 | unless of course, once again maybe this is going to be the seed for Cody Road's turning heel. Now I'm going to park it for there because once again this does play into later, but the match was fun. If you do go watch it, have a good time. I just think maybe at the moment WW is playing it a bit too safe. |
| 4:31.0 | And that's kind of true because we go right into Rea Ripley versus Jade Cargill, which has to get the down and it's not even their fault. But towards the end of this, we're in the middle, Ria and Ripley had the match won after the rip tied. Out came the bad ease. I think it was B-Fab. Grabed Jake Cargill's foot and she put it on the rope. So I said, wait a minute, why are we doing? |
| 4:31.0 | It wasn't exactly the same finish, but it was just way too similar to the first match. grabbed Jane Cargill's foot and she put it on the rope. So I was like, wait a minute, why are we doing? |
| 4:46.4 | I mean, it wasn't exactly the same finish, but it was just way too similar to the first match. And yes, I know. B-Fab had a bit of a struggle here trying to get that foot on the ropes. I do not care. She didn't do it on purpose, did she? It was a mistake. You've never made a mistake at work. You just plants around being Mr or Mrs. Perfect. |
| 4:47.7 | It's just ridiculous. |
| 5:22.7 | And I totally understand it does take you out of the atmosphere and take you out of the environment. Like, oh my gosh, I could not see that. But it's wrestling. It's the most important, the least important things. Befad probably right now is like, man, I'm really mad at myself. Just let it go. However, for all this nonsense with ropes, which also tied to the finish of this, I'm just giving it a down. I don't understand why we couldn't come up with something new. It was actually really good though, and I tell you, Ria Rippley and J. Carg'll have great chemistry together. And once again, it was kind of like WrestleMania. Jay just beat on Rhea and beat on Ria. So Rhea Ripley was playing the baby face in peril. And again, Ria Ripley is quite a badass. |
| 5:57.4 | So the fact that she is able to pull this off, I say bravo all round. Every time Jay did something powerful as well, she just went down and did some Scott Steiner push-ups which did make me laugh. And eventually I think Ripley got mad at that. So she slapped Jane right around the face. And then yes, they did just get into it. And really the big shifteroo was when, well, the bannies came out because they were worried after Jade had hit the least devastating move in all of sports entertainment, the blue thunder bomb. Did it work? Of course it didn't work. So why B-Fam and Meachin were worried here, I do not know. But yes, that is when Rhea hit the rip Tide, which is not the name of my brand new music single. And yes, we put her foot on the ropes. |
| 6:11.4 | And the referee, to be fair, did see the bannies do that and go, oh, now you have to leave. So out came Alexa Bliss, out came Charlotte Flair. They had a big old fight when Jay Coggle hit jaded. Do you know what Charlotte Flair did? She grabbed Rear Ripley's foot and she put it on the ropes because if a hill does something |
| 6:12.4 | first, a baby face can do whatever you want. Personally, I wouldn't have done that. Due to what we've already talked about, but also Ria and Ripley didn't need it. But after this show, do you know what Jay did? She beat up Charlotte Flair. So you can't get mad at that. we're selling it up for a feud right after this. |
| 6:26.7 | Soon after this as well, Re-ended hit the rip tire to get the one, two, three, so that was the end of that. |
