All right, Brian, it's time to talk a little bit of defense, man.

And like I said, it's going to be a little bit of a different tone from what was on the offensive side of the ball.

Because Notre Dame kind of, when things were in doubt, went to their back pocket and stuck to the,

stuck to their guns and went to the side of the ball that got them to this point.

And the number one overall key for the defense was their ability to make quick

adjustments because we hadn't seen Gunner Stockton yet for four quarters of football.

So how do you evaluate how they met that, that key?

Oh, I give them, that's a plus or a check, excuse me.

Borderline plus for me, because, I mean, you look at Gunner Stockton's numbers.

He started the game 7 of 7 for 109 yards, and he finished the game, I think 13 of 25 for

100 and 30, 120 some yards, 129, something like that, 125.

Yeah, they adjusted well.

I thought they did a good job handling the bootleg stuff that we saw from him.

They always had a guy in place.

And that was actually an immediate adjustment, like just something that they were prepared for. You think of just the second play of the game, which the stop Josh Burnham made.

Like, you know, Josh is running out towards the back, but he's got his eye on, on Gunner Stockton,

and he makes out play. You know, Junior Tulumaka staying home on a Reed's own play and blowing that play up. And, you know, so I thought they did a pretty good job with that.

I thought they did a pretty good job of handling what was going to be different with

Gunner Stockton.

And I think, you know, like the one play that they made the big play, it was just a great

job by Aaron Smith to kind of attack Christian Gray's leverage and kind of freeze him for a second.

And then once he gets you to freeze, you're done.
