For eight consecutive nights, people in Tehran have defied authorities to protest over the death of Masa Amini.

The 22-year-old died in custody last week after being arrested by so-called Morality Police.

She allegedly violated the country's policy on headscarves.

But women who are at the heart of this protest continue to defy the authorities, burning headscarves,

cutting their hair and walking in the streets of the capital without a hijab.

I'm Bill Whalen, I'm a Hoover Distinguished Policy Fellow, be your moderator today, and I'm glad to report that I'm joined by our full complement of Goodfellows.

Fellows all. John Cochran, we're going to start with you today because we're going to go across

the pond to Great Britain where the funeral is over and now England is back to business, which means

that Liz Trust, the new British Prime Minister, has come out with what we would call Trussonomics.

John, can you briefly take us through what Liz Trust's plan is to restore the

British economy? Well, we'll see. There's a campaign plan, and that's where there's what's starting

to get going, and we'll see where it ends up. The left has proclaimed a new funeral for the UK

economy, I think, much too quickly. She came in that there's a, if you look, I looked up on political, there's 160 points they

summarized about her campaign pledges, so we'll see where it goes.

The headlines, of course, are not tax cuts, but scrapping planned tax increases, which

the left predictably went nuts about.
