We are eight weeks into the 2026 MLB season, which is more than enough time to adjust our opinions on some starting pitchers.

Eric Halterman here, excited to be joined by Paul Sporer of Fangraphs, co-host of the

Sleeper in the Bus podcast.

One of my favorite fantasy podcasts, probably one of yours as well, listener. Paul, how's it going? You off to a good start this fantasy season, or have you moved on to Out of the Park baseball? It's going all right. Thank you so much for having me on. I haven't fully moved off of my teams and into the realm of video of, you know, video game world yet, balancing

both still.

I feel pretty good about what my main event is at right now, especially with scubel on the IL,

who we're going to talk about.

And I'm also getting some pretty wretched performances out of Machado and Trey Turner.

So to be vacillating basically between like third through fifth.

I was actually bouncing between first through fifth when I had Scoobble,

but now that he's out, it's really more third through fifth.

But to have that with your ace out and two of your foundational players,

you know, hitting my body weight, I'm okay with that.

And then my other teams, you know, they're all kind of treading decently.

Nothing really seems completely dead right now outside of maybe my Earth League.

I'm in the Texas area, Roto Fantasy League, and that sucker has taken on a lot of water.

So we'll see how it goes.

But even that is still too early. You know, even if you

have a 14th, 15th place team right now, sure, I'm sure some folks have the bleak, you know, 10 injury type teams. But if you're not ravaged, there's certainly enough time and you can, you know, you can come back. Yeah, in that situation you were talking about with your main event team is probably the best situation to be in if you're a few spots below where you want, right?
