extraordinary. I mean, recently, yes, as of the past eight months. So, Kate, what's the deal?

What's happened? A lot has happened with the Equal Rights Amendment. The first most exciting piece of news that we've talked about a little bit on the podcast so far is that Virginia became the 38th and final needed state to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment.

That means many things, but one of them is it's sort of the capstone of 100 years of work of women in this country to meet the requirements of Article 5 of the Constitution, which governs the amendment process.

It's pretty simple.

It has to pass in both houses of Congress by twothirds, and then it has to go to the states for

ratification, and that has to be three-fourths or 38. So all this time, through the 1970s, we got
