So, Kishore, you've got a son who's in school now.

Just started, what, first grade?

Second grade.

So are you thinking about university yet?

No. Should I be? Don't make time go by faster than it already is. Well, what about your own choice of university? What do you think are the factors that influenced which university you chose and whether you went to university at all? Well, I think number one has to be cost this day and age just because of how

expensive university seem to be. And then second, I actually was taking around my niece to check

out colleges a couple weeks ago. And one of the things that I surprisingly said is like,

make sure this feels right to you, that you feel comfortable

here as opposed to like the majors and stuff, which is what I thought I would say.

Well, what if I told you that one of the influences that did influence your choice most likely

but that you didn't realize was actually in your genes?

No, no, no, no, no. I don't believe this. Can't be genetics and universities.

I know. It sounds totally far-fetched. But a paper recently out by Emily Smith-Willi and her

colleagues in scientific reports, it's a nature research journal, suggests that by looking at a large-scale

twin studies, that there is at least a small proportion of the variance of not only which

university you pick, but how well you do at university, that can be explained by genetics.

Like, how? That makes no sense to me. Yeah, there certainly isn't the, you know,

Stanford gene or, you know, let's hope not. But there are, you know, and I think what they don't
