Hey, hey, what's going on? Alex here. I want to talk to you about the dark side of Christian

leadership. We live in a world today where a lot of people are jumping into Christian

leadership very quickly. And sometimes what happens, somebody gets converted and they already

have a big following. And so they switch up their niche and they become a Christian influencer of sorts or

you prayed on a TikTok and that TikTok went viral and now you're thrown into this sphere of

Christian influence and leadership and it just seems like there's a new Christian podcast every

week and a new Christian content

creator every week.

And so there can be a lot of pressure for somebody who is young and trying to figure out

what their life is supposed to look like in the next 10 years.

And so I want to relieve some of that pressure and let a lot of you know that you may not be

called to be a Christian leader, but if you are, there are some questions that I've asked

myself and others have asked me.

And I'm going to present them to you today and hopefully they'll give you some clarity on what God wants you to do in your life.

And so the first one is, who is leading me?

I got this question from 2 Timothy 4.3, which says, for the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears, they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.

What is Paul saying here to young pastor Timothy?

He's talking to him about the phenomenon way back in the early church that's still happening today and that is

people will accumulate for themselves teachers that suit their own passions. What does that

sound like? It sounds like grocery shopping. You go to the grocery store, you find some food

you like, you accumulate it into your basket.

Another person there shopping is going to accumulate different things into their basket.
