We were once again recording from our parents' home.

It is Father's Day 2013.

We took Dad out to lunch at his favorite restaurant.

Southern Spice.

Southern Spice is a restaurant that my father loves,

and he used to go to its old location near where he worked in Queens,

and it's since moved to Long Island.

So we went there.

We ate it.

But it's actually, because I think a lot of Indian food, to me, is very similar.

It's basically all the same.

This place is actually a little different.

Yeah.

And the owner of the place has his own recipes for things.

Yeah.

Well, it's like, you know, your standard, like Punjabi Gujarati, North Indian food.

But this guy also, he's South Indian, and he specializes in Chetanad cuisine, which is something. What does that mean? That's a part of, uh, Tamil Nadu, isn't it? Is that, is that what it is? I think it, it's, it's a certain type of Tamil cooking. Yeah. So he, I think maybe based in Chennai. Chetanada Chennai is what I assumed.

So then he has a lot of good stuff that he does specifically there.

But I don't like eating Indian food in restaurants.
