I was just a guy, there was no, you know how I hate notoriety, you know how I hate

this persona, this people said, or we need a thank you made up about the heroics and stuff.

I was just a guy doing a job the best I could, and it's something like that.

I did have some unique skills that helped me do it that way, and I was able to help a lot

of people.

And I probably didn't always will be, and I truly, and still did, just there, I missed my people,

that I was a swore to protect.

I'm a stompson, I failed her, I failed her greatly, I was, I didn't recognize the danger

she was in, I'll forever regretful that my actions and inaction resulted in me.

It was terrible situation, and that was not recognizing the danger she was in when I

was pushing bad guys around her, everybody said, oh no, you didn't know, but I was supposed

to know that was the problem, I'll carry that with me forever.

On a warm April morning, Henry and I made the drive four hours south of Atlanta to long

unit state prison in Ludwissy, Georgia, where Michael Chapel is currently serving out

his life sentence.

And the first thing I notice is that this place is, it's small, it just kind of sits

off in a field, there's really nothing around, but fields, and then beyond that pine trees,

I've never seen this much razor wire, probably at a prison this small, I mean, it's a fence

probably 12 feet tall, and there's just rounds of razor wire from bottom to top, it's

pretty wild actually, and there are guard lookouts.
