In her new book, Until I Am Free, Dr. Blain chronicles the life of Fannie Lou Hamer, a change-maker who has been set on the back shelf of history. Fannie Lou gave a powerful speech at the Democratic National Convention in 1964 at a time when Black voter suppression and violence against Black Americans was practiced across the country, especially in the South. 1:12.0	Sure. Well, my name is is Kisha Blaine and I teach history at the
1:16.0	University of Pittsburgh. I'm particularly interested in 20th century US
1:20.7	history, African American history, and the modern African diaspora.
1:25.8	I have written several books before this one.
1:29.0	My first book is called Souther World on Fire.
1:32.0	It's on Black National Women, primarily in the US,
1:35.0	but also across the globe.
1:36.8	And this new book, which I've just published,
