On the night of February the 24th and 1978, the Yuba County 5 were cheering on the UC Davis basketball team during an away game held in Chico.

What are the Yuba County 5?

Is this like a cheerleading team or something?

All five men, okay, I guess not.

I mean men can be cheerleaders, right? There are male cheerleaders, I'm pretty sure. I can't picture one,

but I do know they probably exist. All five men were participants in a place called Gateway

Projects, which was an organization aimed at supporting adults with developmental

disabilities, intellectual impairments and mental health conditions, providing training

to help them find employment.

These guys weren't just basketball fans, they were pretty good players themselves, and

they all had spots on the local Gateway Gators team who had an important match scheduled

for the very next day.

So this made it all the more puzzling when none of them returned home that night.

And from now point onwards, the puzzles kept on coming thick and fast.
