the investigation, leads often dry up and go nowhere. Memories fade, interest wanes, and there are

bigger, more pressing cases that take priority and steal away resources. When cold cases are

solved, it almost always comes down to sheer persistence and a refusal to give up. Someone close to

the case, whether it's a detective, reporter, or a family member, has to keep propelling it forward.
